Online launch: Mobilising for rights in the MENA region

About the seminar

What role can localised or transnational acts of mobilisation play in supporting the rights of forced migrants in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA)?
Join us for the online launch of the FMR special feature on Mobilising for rights in the MENA region, in collaboration with the REF-ARAB project at the University of Oslo.
In this launch event, the featured authors will share insights and lessons learned from efforts to strengthen the rights of forced migrants.
Reflecting on opportunities for, and obstacles to, mobilization, the authors will discuss the importance of local refugee-led organising and networks of transnational solidarity. At the same time, they will reflect on the many obstacles their efforts are confronted with, such as complex legal landscapes, donor restrictions, European containment policies, and the increasingly widespread criminalisation of solidarity.
Registration via Zoom.
The launch is an opportunity to network with authors and dive deeper into the issues and challenges raised by the authors in their pieces.
It is also a great chance to reflect on developments and to consider questions on mobilization for the rights of refugees and other vulnerable groups in the MENA region.
All the articles on ‘Mobilising for rights in the MENA region’ can be accessed on FMR's website here.
