The REF-ARAB Project - Team - Abdullah Omar Yassen

Abdullah Omar Yassen is Assistant Professor in Public International Law, and Head of Cultural Relations, International Office, at the Erbil Polytechnic University. Abdullah holds a PhD in International Refugee Law from Newcastle University and an LL.M with Merit in Public International Law from the University of Leicester. He has also received a postgraduate diploma in International Law from the University of Nottingham and an LL.B with Honours from the University of Derby. 

Abdullah is an external legal expert in the field of international protection for the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) and Independent Monitoring Officer at SEEFAR/the Migrant Project. Abdullah has published a number of papers in the field of forced migration, refugee law, and minority rights.
